For those who rent equipment and are not so familiar with the types of cranes, we are happy to explain the difference between a tyre crane and a caterpillar crane. It is a choice you must think through properly, although it mainly depends on the type of surface you will be working on.
Tyre cranes can be used on all surfaces without leaving marks or damaging the ground. They are also slightly faster and handier, for instance, to drive between two sites.
Caterpillar cranes are even stronger, with greater loading and excavation capacity, but the ground suffers a little more.
